ANY AGE ANYTIME

In honor of the week of my birth, I have decided to address what I seem to hear with every passage from my "realistic" friends out there. Nothing seems to be more fulfilling for them but to remind me that there will come a birthday that will mark the end of my health and fitness.

Or the need to justify their lack of health responsibilities with such statements as "it gets harder when you're older." I don't think anyone is saying it's easy at any age. And no doubt our hormone levels decrease with the years. However, you can decide to be the healthiest you can be and look your best at ANY age.

BE A LABEL WHORE

A friend once remarked that he was a "label" snob. He only purchased clothes, sunglasses etc that had a designer name associated to it.

I think we should become a nation of food snobs. Only eating foods that are rich in nutrients. Lets turn up our nose to foods that you can purchase at a convenient store. Only buy items that have an all natural label attached to them.

What would you look like if you paid more (or just as much)attention to what you put inside your body as what you wore outside?

I say be a label whore. Read the labels of every supermarket items. And only buy the best quality ingredients.

HOW YOUNG ARE YOU?

In honor of the month of my birth, I have decided to address what I seem to hear with every passage from my "realistic" friends out there.

And remember , Brad Pitt was forty years old when he filmed the movie TROY. It’s true he gets paid to look great, however he certainly exemplifies that it is possible to look that great at any age. Ask yourself, if you were getting paid to get into shape would you do it? Most people would answer “yes”, but without money as an incentive, they have plenty of great excuses. If that is you, then perhaps you need to re-examine your priorities and what is truly important to you.

FOOD IS FUEL

Eating is not a horrible and evil act. Food gives us energy, it is meant to be enjoyed. Putting your focus on what you “should” or “should not” do only creates an obsession. When you become obsessed about something the tendency is to do more of it not less. You should take pleasure in the foods you chose and eat; it doesn’t mean you have to eat all of it. Healthy slim people recognize they will eat again. There’s no notion of depravation or a sense of saying goodbye to an old friend that they will never see again. Eat to live.
